The method

OpenValues does not turn value questions into a formula. It makes the real points of disagreement visible.

  1. Premises: What are we assuming?
  2. Conclusion: What follows, and with how much confidence?
  3. Counterarguments: What is the strongest opposing case?
  4. Revision trigger: What could change our mind?
  5. Sources: Which claims can be checked?

The cycle is: question → perspectives → reasons → decision → practice → revision.
